Gezai Berhane graduated with a BA in Sociology in 1992 as part of the first graduating class from California State University San Marcos. After graduation he was hired at CSUSM where he began as a Student Activities Advisor. Berhane just retired in December 2021 from CSUSM, where he was most recently the Associate Director of Operations. In his interview, Berhane details his childhood in Eritrea (East Africa), his educational experience in the United States, and his involvement with CSUSM student groups as a student and as a staff member.
