Louis Adamsel
Louis Adamsel graduated from CSUSM in 2018 with a degree in communications. While he was a student, Adamsel served in Associated Students Incorporated first as a representative for the College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences, and then was elected the next year as the ASI president. Once elected, he sought ways to represent diverse student voices. Adamsel also worked for the university as a Business Continuity Coordinator. In his interview, Adamsel speaks on his time as an undergraduate student at California State University San Marcos, aspects of his life as a student leader, his experience as a Black student and, later, as a staff member. Adamsel discusses his experience advocating for the opening of the Black Student Center and the purpose the BSC serves to students, including the necessity of having a variety of resources in order to retain underserved students. He also speaks on mentorships and partnerships, both within the Black community and across identities and spaces.
