Dixon was one of the co-founders of the Seattle chapters of the Black Panther Party, and had a hand in the establishment of Black student unions at local Seattle high schools. Easley-Cox was involved with the Black Panther Party in the 1960s and 1970s and was involved in initiatives around food and clothing, as well as involved in the international section of the BPP. <br />
